I took this photo in the year 1951 in Nashville , Tennessee

This is Buford J. an agent in BNA .  HE is loading a Convair 240.

I Randy Foster was a A&E nechanic seeing the aircraft through to Chicago..

The Convair CV-240 is an American airliner produced by Convair from 1947 to 1954, initially as a possible replacement of the ubiquitous Douglas DC-3. Featuring a more modern design with cabin pressurization, the 240 series was able to make some inroads as a commercial airliner and also had a long development cycle which resulted in various civil and military variants. Although reduced in numbers through attrition, the "Convairliners" in various forms continue to fly into the 21st century.[1]

WOW 3200 years old.

Amazingly awesome to think of the life of this tree! Thank God no loggers took it down,
nor forest fires, nor earthquakes. Just a quiet life in a California forest for all these years.
3200 Years in One Photo
Not every tree has a nickname but 'The President' has earned it.
This giant sequoia stands at 247 feet  tall & is estimated to be over 3,200 years old.
Imagine, this tree was already 1200 years old when Jesus walked the earth!
The trunk of The President measures at 27 feet across with 2 BILLION needles from base to top.
Because of its unbelievable size, this tree has never been photographed in its entirety, until now.
National Geographic photographers have worked along with
scientists to try and create the first photo that shows The President in all its glory.
They had to climb the tree with pulleys and levers and took thousands of photos.
Of those they selected 126 and stitched them together
to get this incredible portrait of The President.
And here it is:
The man standing near the trunk of the tree is a good indicator of the tree's size.

The VHF radio in the walkway from the cabin to cockpit, in the DC-3...

Some of the freight could be hauled in this area.

The DC-3 Buffet. The coffee and beverages were served in THERMOS.

This fire extinguisher is located by the main cabin door..

Of course it's contents is "PYRENE".

As you can see the DC-3 is put together with BRAZIER HEAD RIVITES.

The bolt show in the photo is one bolt out of hundreds that bolts the wing ON.

This old soldier from WW-2 helped put the wing back on after entering the HANGAR.

Of course the south wall of the HANGAR was not installed at this time.

BY the WAY...I will teach you to BUCK rivites on Thursday Morning any time.

On entering my Volunteer job Thursday I came upon this critter..

Hewas as busy as I was the rest of the day. But he is PURDY.
